This is interesting, but mostly because I always assumed that the colleges I applied to, most (if not all - I can't remember) of them claiming to be "need blind" were in fact just lying to us and in fact were quite cognizant of how student finances were shaking out. The idea that Chicago at no point, ever, in the process of deciding to accept me, was even aware that my family could afford to not have financial aid, just didn't - and doesn't - seem plausible to me.

More serious thoughts on education and class potentially forthcoming but you'd do well not to hold your breath, if you like that whole "breathing" thing.
